Chris,

Today as I was servicing the gasser, I noticed that the swash plate has slop in it. If I hold the swash bewteen my pinkie and thumb I can move it up and down a bit. When installed I can feel the swash move back and forth a bit also. I know, don't do that and I won't feel it:P

Do you rebuild the swash or do I just get a new one. If you rebuild them, is it hard and do you need special tools? I checked the turbine and the swash does the same, so maybe I've worn them out after two years of hard flying and crashing.:o

It would depend on where the movement is. Is the inner portion moving up and down in the bearing? Is the bearing moving up and down in the outer ring?

Or is it just the bearing that has play?

Chris,

From what I can tell the inner part is moving up and down within the bearing. I can also grab the swash and move it a bit side to side. Again the play seems to be in between the ball part of the swash and the bearing innards. There is no play in the bearing and swash housing.

The "eyeball" bearing can be replaced easily enough.

Have you tried lubing it with some light oil?
