Converting raptor30v2 to 50v2?

hello everyone, I crashed my 30v2 and now i am buying the conversion kit to go yo a 50v2. When i buy parts that are not in the kit, or upgrade parts, do i look for 50 parts or 30 parts? Also what servos should i look to get for an upgrade? Right now i am using a futaba 7chp with the stock servos and a 401 gyro with a 9254 servo for the tail. Thanks to all who reply.

The 30 and 50 Raptors share most parts. Since you have the upgrade kit, keep track of the parts in that kit. As a rule, if it's not in the upgrade kit it's a 30 part. I've upgraded several 30s but it's been a long time so I may forget a thing or two. The parts that are different are the tail boom, belt, and boom supports. The main pinion and spur gears are different along with the motor mount and fan. The thirty does not come with the driven tail gear (white) or the carbon fiber base plate. The color of the canopy stickers is different.

Your servos will work well until you start banging around hard 3D at which time you may want to upgrade to servos in the 70 in/oz range. Your gyro and tail rotor servo combo is fine.

Don't forget to modify your canopy latch so your canopy won't fly off. There is an example of a good latch in my gallery.
