Yeah they are great Ber, but if your buying from the States, why not an Exi for $99 ?
I know its a full metal head but the Exi head is fine
Either way youll find it much easier to progress on mate:)

Hi Ian
I would love a exi but plastic head and shipping costs put me off a little bit and look what I found in ten mins

Yeah but its not the buy it now price that the starting bid and its AU $99 shipping
I love the way my CopterX head and tail fly. The Esky head is really a barrier to learners by comparison. The response is so much more logical and predictable with a trex head
even if you just put the head and tail on your belt you'll find things much easier:thumbup:
All the best mate

I say go for the esky-helicopter.com CopterX. Here's why:
"Air Parcel Rate (7 business days to 14 business days to major countries + Handling) US$43.58"
The EXI seems like a nice piece of kit, but let's face it - this one's $192.58 delivered vs. $171. If $20 gets you a full CNC upgrade and the V2 head, I wouldn't think twice. The Xheli CNC version would set you back $261.95 delivered...

Would the Belt CP electronics (motor, ESC, Rx and Tx) be OK with the CopterX?

I like the thoughts of a Trex 500 too, Johnny, looks just a superb bit of heli, but at a cost though; but i guess you don't get ought-fo-nought!!!!!!!! I like the EXI MA, but without the shipping!!!!

The motor and ESC will work, but I'm not sure if the stock transmitter could be configured for a two-balls-front type of swashplate. You could always test if you write down your current settings and lay out three servos in the T-Rex pattern.

So is the swash configuration on the CopterX 450 different to that of the Exi?
DierWolf seems to think that that the stock Belt electronics will work in the Exi - http://www.helifreak.com/showthread.php?t=74801 2nd post.

No, they're identical - I just wasn't sure because I never tried it. I forgot DierWolf was still clinging to his 0406A when he got the EXI ;)

Dier put stock Esky gear straight into his EXI!! Ask him for setup details if you get it

DierWolf if you could let me how to get the Esky eletronics setup in the Exi frame I would be very :clapppful!
Presumably it would be the same setup for the CopterX 450?

Jonny, I thought about the 500 but battery prices put me off, hence the reason I picked up a 2nd hand nitro instead. Lovely heli though the Trex 500.
Erwin, I have to agree with Mika. Whilst the EXI is great if you live in US the shipping makes the CopterX a far better deal IMO for those that don't live in the states.

Yeah how you going to afford the batteries jonny when youv'e only got one for your belt,
I'm sure Wolfies right about electric if you have an unlimited amount of spare cash. but
modern glo motors are really good the ones I have had start first time and run flawlessly.
Ok with a heli you need to lug a starter and battery around but the flight time you get from a tank of fuel means you need a lot of lipo's to compete.
I personally think electric helis sound much better, the noise of a 2 stroke glo motor resricts where you can use it though.

yes all electronics from teh belt will work perfectly fine both in the Exi and the CopterX (its what i am using
in my Exi)
at the end your dip switches at teh bottom will be all down except for the rudder.

WRT shipping costs from USA to Uk of an EXI, this was the reply I got from "xheli:
<DIV class=MsoNormal style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt"><SPAN style="FONT-SIZE: 11pt; FONT-FAMILY: 'Times New Roman'">"Shipping is automatically calculated and may include handling charges. Large items, such as airplanes, may be classified as oversized.

There is an online chat you can do with them on the webpage, simply ask thru that if they can send via USPS instead .... STill think simplest way is to send someone paypal money in the US and let them get it for you and ship it to you via USPS Priority mail.
