Anyone know if Askman have gone out of business?
I ordered an AP mount a month ago, haven't received it, have tried on numerous occasions but received no communication whatsoever and have now had to file a claim with PAYPAL to get the money back??

Did you bother to read the announcement on the AskmanAP.com website??? Andrey has apologised for temporarily dropping the ball due to family illness issues and others.
Do you have compassion, or is your life so frantic that you step over people who stumble?
This guy is normally rock-solid, and it is a shame that people automatically assume the worst.

Tony,
I don't think his question was out of line. I've been in the same situation for months now. I have numerous PM's on several sites and emails that have gone unanswered. I only asked for a little understanding too. Hope he is ok..

Hey Numb Nuts - what do you think the first thing I did was?? Looked on the Askman website for a contact - and there was no mention of any family illness. Of course I'd be more than sympathetic had there been any mention of that. So what am I you supposed to think? I pay the money and get no response.
So yes I have compassion - a great deal, no my life isn't frantic, and if someone stumbles I'll help them up. I didn't assume the worst, I was enquiring and phrased the enquiry to elicit a response. I guess it did that, and some people will always be easy to bait ;)

geeeez harsh, the guy only wants to either get what he paid for or his money back. That simple
also, would you go to the supermarket, pay for your food then say "send it when you feel like it".i dont think so.

Well said, Mark ... been there with other merchants / posters myself and now have "rumors" on the negative side that I've been told of ...

Mark, Andrey had the explanation on his website more than a week ago. When did you last look?

His family issues statement has been there every time I've been on the website, which is a couple of times a week.
I see his username show up on some of the forums all the time. You can try to PM him on several of the sites and ask your questions. His username is askman.
Also, if you didn't find it, his email is askmanAP@hotmail.com.
Good luck. I hope you guys get it all worked out favorably.

Thanks for the info Guys,
It was ordered mid April and the I emailed twice early May then escalated to Paypal mid May - I checked his site today and read the announcement, but that wasn't there when I was trying to contact him.
Shame, and I'm sorry the guy had problems, but a simple autorespond or a quick one-line reply would have solved everything.
Anyway, got an email from Paypal saying a refund is pending and I have a bunch of CF sheets on the way to build my own.....
Mark
I bought a mount from him a while back. I have to say he was very helpful and took time to respond to all my questions. It was a pleasure to do business with him.
I have no inside knowledge of the situation and I agree the delay is annoying and inconvenient, but on a personal level I would tend to give him the benefit of the doubt.
