Hi All,
Just maidened my Logo 500. I just replaced my Swift with the Logo 500. I was just getting the motor speed dialed in at a very small field, so I didn't have a chance to wring it out yet. But with the circuits I was doing, I have to say that it felt very "sports car like." It is so tall and easy to see, but turns on a dime.
Trim and tracking were perfect from the start. And it was incredibly smooth. I need to finish my custom paint before I wring her out. But I'm expecting good things. A pleasant surprise is that it looks like I'm going to get 5:30 plus minutes of flying running 2200 rpm.
I just weighed it and it came out at 6 lbs. 4 oz. (2.9 kg). I was pleasantly surprised by the weight. Despite being much larger than my Swift, it weighs only 1 oz. more.
Here's the rest of my setup:
- Century 600+ motor (came down cool on test flights)
- 15 tooth pinion
- TP5000 batteries
- Jazz 80-6-18 ESC (2100 76%, 2200 84%)
- WR Herc 5/6 volt 5 amp BEC (set to 6 volts)
- 9452 servos
- JR 770 3D gyro w 8900G servo (set to 60% in my Spektrum radio)
- SAB 550 blades
- K&B plastic 85 mm tail blades
I did have one problem though. In my post flight inspection, I found that the main shaft collar had loosened up. When I tried to tighten it, the head of the screw stripped. I had to cut it off. I would have been out of commission waiting for parts, except that I had an extra TRex 600 collar on the shelf. It fit perfectly. And it locks on with two set screws instead of the clamping design of the Logo. I like it much better than stock. Thank goodness for Align's policy of including extra parts on their spares.
I'll let you know how the aerobatics go when I finish my paint job.
Keep 'em flying.:YeaBaby:
