Im having problems with my AP joker CX. the tail wags slowly left to right and is hard to keep on heading. what set up should i run on a Joker CX with a 401? or gain?

I'm having similar issues on an Industrial Turbine, I see NRI is having something similar on one of their birds.....
Just wierd is all.......
Good luck.

Must be some ALIEN conspiracy. I've had 401 wag too. I had JR500T wag so I changed to the 401. Still had the wag. I rebuilt the entire tail linkage and changed to new gears on my servo (JR NES810G super-servo) Now there is virtually no slow wag and I can run 100% gain in digital mode. Yes 100%. Can't explain the wag except for perhaps a little binding and the fact that the 810G has a little gear slop even with the new gear set.
Whatever servo you are using try moving the servo horn while radio is fired up and check for any slop at all.

no slop what so ever... =/

How about the mounting foam vs vibration level. I had a slight low freq vibe on one of my swifts. The tail wasn't sitting still it would hunt back and forth about every 2 to 4 seconds and the prio stops weren't as good as should be and I couldn't raise the gain very high. I had the ball way in on the servo arm. Same as now. Couldn't get over about 70% gain without getting severe osscillations. Now that heli can run100% for normal mode if I want.
Long story. No more vibe and much higher gain!
Worth a shot .

i got a chance to move it and i got a higher gain. but still some wag.

Wow crazy, Chris that is one of things I was going to ask you about today. Yesterday I was flying my Turbine Observer and for the first time ever I am having tail wag, also 401 gyro. Of course we just replace the tail box, and I am going to check tonight for any kind of slop or binding.
Very weird though, that all this is happening at once.
Whoops, I checked when I got home, and I have the 611 gyro not the 401. No binding that I can see, but I am having an issue with the tail servo. When I put input in to the left or right and let go back to center, the servo and therefore the tail blades do not return back to center by itself. Not sure if this is normal or not, do to me being a rookie?

Keep looking for a mechanical reason for this behavior. My 600 that had always been rock steady suddenly started a slow wag. Of course I suspected either the servo or 401 gyro, but then we found a bolt had backed out of the feathering spindle slightly. Rock steady again now. Usually the gyro will oscillate the tail quickly due to the positive feedback nature of the problem.

Crewchief, That put you out -of-balance correct ?? and that confused the gyro. Seems that it is usually vibes when my gyros don't hold well.

Denny,
In heading hold, the tail blades will NOT return to center when the stick does. In NORMAL or NON HH, the blades WILL follow the stick.

You'd think so, but there was no indication of imbalance or vibration of the tail boom. I think it just introduced enough slop in the pitch control that it was continuously hunting.
