Hi i have a new Battery and i need to fit a new female connector to fit the Blade one, so can someone tell me which way you fit the gold connectors to the plastic bit? do you solder the wires on then push the gold connector through from the back of the blue plastic bit to secure them? or do you put the wires through the blue plastic bit, then solder the wires on and then pull the gold connectors into the blue plastic bit?

anyone fitted new ones?

cheers chuck

solder first then insert to the plastic connector, when you push them into the conncetor, use a small screw driver and as it goes in, you feel a pop, this is when it is fully seated.

Slide the blue cover over the wires FIRST then solder the metal ends on when your finished the blue cover will clip over the brass ends .......... unless you solder like me and have solder ALL over the sides of the brass ends ....LOL

That's not how Horizon/E-flite say to do it.
I'll look for the link.

That didn't take nearly as long as I thought it would.

No worries guys,
We always get it right in the end.

There's a similar thread on this topic somewhere. I thought it was here but I can't find it now.
But one other important point that was mentioned is to use a 40W soldering iron. Anything less will not get the job done, well it will if you want to sit around soldering for about two hours.
...been there.:(

NO WAY, I did the same as you misterg....much easier....you see that guy in the vid using all that force to punch them in......easier the way you mentioned

But I have upgraded to deans so no worries there.

Funny cause I just answered this question earlier today (your way) for fozy, this was my post:

slide the blue plasic down the wire, put the metal tubes in a vice fill with solder attach wires then slide plastic over the metal tubes it will click into place. I did the same a while back but have since just changed the heli to deans - makes life easier

Oh well i did it the way the manufacture suggested and it worked just fine, they popped into place with very little effort

at a guess I'd say it's a safety thing as doing it the way E-Flite says, allows you to do one plug at a time, to lessen the chance of shorting the two wires out, if you did it the other way as suggested by a couple of members, you have to pull the blue part down onto both connectors at once, hence more chance of shorting the two wires

again thanks for that link, it worked perfect for my job

no silly, you only strip one wire at a time.
