I'm back onto the trail of getting a Knight 3D on trade for a truck I have sitting around. The guy had it built as a display model for his shop or something like that, but I have no clue of what I'll need for the setup.
Do the kits usually come with blades or do you get those separate? I was originally thinking of getting 8717's for the cyclic, maybe an 8900G for the tail and a Spartan gyro. Also, the Hyper 50, some type of throttle monitor and a good regulator. And to top all that off, I'll need to get a fuel pump, starter, and a good RX pack.
Anything else I am missing?

The kits do NOT come with main blades, but they do come with tail blades.
You will also need a glow ignitor and a few feet of medium fuel tubing.

id start by taking it apart and seeing what you really need in return you will have a better understanding and know where you stand
out side of that your going to need thebasics but how long have you been out of the hobby or have you just started?
whats your skill level?

I've been into helis for around 2 years. No major 3D flying yet, but my first heli was a Kyosho Concept .46VR and my current helis are a Trex 450, Dragonus II, Blade CP Pro (full brushless, 401 gyro, spektrum RX, metal head), Walkera 52 and 2 blade CX2's.
I've wanted anothe nitro for a while, and now that I live in the middle of nowhere, the nitro will be much better to have! :) I'm fairly proficient on the setups and I won't put my helis in the air unless they are running tip-top. I also have a ton of nitro cars, so I think I have the tuning part down pretty well. Helis and planks are much easier to tune anyways.
This heli will be my summer project as it will be incredibly hot in the daytime, so I'll mostly be on the simulator. But I'm hoping to have it all together by September when it starts to cool off and I have more time to go fly. I'm getting a pretty sizeable tax return back, so I'll have some spare change to get whatever I might need, I just wanted to make sure I had a plan before funning out and diving into a bottomless pit!
