Was having WAY too much fun today with the L5003D V-Bar - should have known it wouldn't last :( - I just LOVE this heli - anyway pulled out a bit toooo late in a knife edge and boy did she hit hard - anyway - almost worth it for the big sky fun foreplay. Lipo punctured cleanly - by pinion I guess. ANyway been meaning to change one frame after a previous encounter with Terra Concreta so on with the rebuild - at least the tail blades look OK

Sh..! Seems the Motormount is intact as well - what about the electronics? VStabi, etc?
Hope the re-build is not too expensive...

PM reveals stuffed frames, one U/C, boom, boom braces, canopy, one blade, bent swash link, lipo - gonna turn into a 5S :) , cracked main gear - not stripped !

Rotor head and shaft seem untouched !

Electrics seem OK - lipo big ticket item but might keep it to fly 5S or make up a 10S. I reckon she'll be in the air again by the weekend !

So about $200 heli parts and lipo and blades! - definitely have to something to protect lipos from that pinion - nearly suffered the same before - maybe a Velcro strap to supplement the O rings or a bit of CF plate on the lipo.

Must have been something in the air.... or not in the air. lol

Sorry to hear, I guess you saw mine went in too.

Yours looks worse than mine though. But mine still cost $270. Although I could probably chop $50 off if I didn't replace the auto bearing and spindle.

How did you get out so cheap?

As mentioned to Billyd, sorry to hear about the crash. Based on the collapse of the frames, I don't think anything would have saved that lipo.

Damn John, you really nailed that one! :noteworthy Lucky thing with Logo's is they do repair real fast, nothing to em.
Mine had a lucky escape down at coffs on the weekend, was playing slapstick with some kangaroo's and misjudged my collective timing, went down between the pack in the middle of lantana bushes and i thought it was gonna look like yours but after what seemed like an eternity it just popped back up

Thanks Russ - glad to hear of your lucky escape - frustrating things them 'roos - I'm damn sure they like things flying over their heads judging by how many I've seen sat in the middle of runways and flying fields - I'm surprised how fast the rebuild going esp with V-Bar very little head rotor head work to do (one bent link) and just a matter of transplanting old fittings into the new frame as you go. Problem with the Logos is that they fly so well they encourage you to push your limits !

PS We play 2-up with the roos up here !
