Okay, Y'all talked Me into a Gaui 200 ! !
I couldn't find a thread in the search feature that mentions a good start up parts package for this little bird. (forward a thread if You know of one).
If Money was not the first concern, what would be a THOROUGH start up for a person with NO local support?
I also would like to know recommendations for the servos, gyro (I have a gy401 coming), RX, (I have an AR6100), etc., and motor.
Thanks,
Gary

they come with esc, motor, blades.
Most people use the Hi-Tech 45HB's with the Futabab 3154 Digital tail servo.
Definetely recommend 2-3 batteries. I run the Gaui 800mah 2S Lipo's. But again make sure your charger can run lipo's and you get the right balancer connector.
You'll need Velcro to strap down the reciever and battery. And some double sided tape or small Zip ties.
I recommend the new style Tail Linkage with the support in the middle or I see Kyle Stacy and most of the other guys run a CF shaft for the tail linkage but not sure where you get that or if you just make it yourself. (but highly recommend 1 of those options from the get go will help hold the tail in place and save you a ton of time)
As for spare parts, definetely Get:
-Main shafts (2 in a package)
-Screw Set (10 in a package, the screw that come with it are small and soft and bend pretty easily)
-Tail Booms (2 in a package)
-And I seem to keep stripping the main shaft collors (the one at the very bottom of the main shaft when I have to change it out - haven't bought them yet as I had an extra main gear which came with one)
-Also I currently fly the stock plastic blades as I could careless about this heli and throw it around as much as I can resulting in pretty much a crash every flight. And well they don't break so I like them. However the woodies you can by do help performance from what I'm told and I do plan to get a set once I get my tail 100% working fine.
I also upgraded to the CF landing gear but not necesssary. Other then that you should be fine. I've crashed this heli probably 12 times already and other then those parts I've listed I can usually bend the rest back in place or it doesn't break.
Hope that helps

you must be talking about that new tiny tiny 3D heli. I seen one at the CCRC meet saturday, it looked like it flew well. but seems like you can wrap up as much money in it as you could a trex500.
who sells these things?

Here's what I would go with if I did another Gaui.
Servos: HS-45
Gyro: Logitech 2100t with accompanying tail servo
Rx: Spektrum AR6100
Battery: The Gaui 800 mAh are good, FlightPower has a couple 850mAh both are good.
That's about it. Glad you came around . Keep us posted.

thanks for the places that sell it, i found it on mikesrchobbies.com and well Unless they give you the broke parts I will stick with something a little bigger that can been seen and pay a few more bucks for parts, but it is a cute looking heli.

Welcome aboard GoldSlinger!
All well said before this, but I'd suggest a haliburton, or other hard case for the bird, tx, and kit.
I'm going to do a post on mine as soon as it's finalized, but my version 1.0 is working pretty well. Helps a lot to have everything in one bag.
Also, add Helihobby to the vendor list for parts and lot's of other goodies. Tech support is superb. There is also a U.K. gent, Mr. Law, who has a flight school, has tested the 200, Nick Maxwell, Buzzkill, and Crabfu vids, check it out.

I have a spare 6100E and a New Futaba 401 (on the way) and some JR DS 285 Servos laying about that came with the DX-7 Ultralite kit.
That reminds Me, will JR ds285'S Work?
Rotorhead, I will get a handful of Aluminum booms, thanks!
Gr4y. . .
I WILL look into that case and watch the vids and will order some booms from helihobby, just because You said so ! :)
Thanks for the advice and warm reception, Everyone ! Looking forward to the build!

I use the 285 servos on one off mine 200(my third, not listed below), ok you have to use the dremel but they fit...

Well, and they say DS so I guess they are digital; so I guess they would be a good servo.
Thanks; I like to tinker and experiment, so may toy with that idea.

Sure you could use the dremel, but the frame is thin as it is, so taking more frame away probably isn't a great idea, but it's up to you. Keep us posted.

Hokay,
So I went with the Dymond servos, and gee whiz! I was'nt impressed when I opened the package, but small, light and really work well.
It's probably about time to update the servo and gyro report list. This is a listing of servo and gyro dimensions and weights, along with the stock 200 servo bay dimensions.
I'll post the last version on the main forum pages. Anyone who wants to add a servo or gyro, please chip in with the specs, and I'll and it, and re-post.
Again, is there any interest in a blade and battery list? Not like we got any aftermarket blades <yet>, but as usual, I'm a bit ahead of reality... ;-)
