The motor mount center was designed for the FX and EFX helicopter and used in the Aurora too. We have those in stock and have had them for a long time and they are compatible with the old YS-91 engine. As a matter of fact the manual for the FX was done with a YS engine. YS increased the distance on the bottom cover of the dosifier unit slightly and that touches the motor mount center slightly. Once Bob gets to that step he'll probably show how small is the area and amount of material that needs to be removed. Once that information is out then people can make a determination if it's worth it to buy a pre-modified one or not.
In the meantime here are a few pictures of my Avant FX with the old YS installed.

The YS ST and SR both use the same regulator, they are the same exact part numbers.

Dude... that is simply not right..... I never have exchanged posts with you before but remember what Helifreak is about! This BS comment is NOT IT....
Thanks Avant for responding!
Again you guys thinking you want to buy the YS motor mount because you don't want to do the mod.... When I show what it takes to fit the SR you wont. Even a man with a file in hand could do this easily.

I guess your NOT getting it.... The motor mount and profile of the YS ST ands SR have changed enough that even though they used the same regulator, it sticks out LOWER (about 1mm) than it did on the ST on the same motor mount! NO ONE will argue they are the same regulator..... What has changed is the distance from the bottom of the motor mount location on the SR.
Avant HAS confirmed this! Otherwise I would not be standing here telling you it is different. I have never had a ST so I cant measure it myself but I have to believe a heli manufacturer/designer KNOWS this to be the case over some user on a forum...

Aaaaaa now we see it come out... clearly a "hidden agenda" and G MAN is not about helping anyone here.... G MAN the forums here are to HELP people! If you want to ***** about some deal you have with whomever... do it via PM or Email or... MAKE A PHONE CALL... This topic has NOTHING to do with your pre-order issues.... I wish I could help you with that honestly I do!!! but why take out that frustration on people here that want to know about the heli?
This post is about the motor mount for the Aurora WHICH YOU STARTED!
Lets keep that on topic please....

I like that motor mount... it's sexy and shiny. I'm going to buy one just to use as a paper weight on my desk until I can afford the kit. Everyday I see it I can day dream about flying an Aurora!!! :woot

Just for your information and for everyone to see that this YS mount subject is being blown out of proportions.
This is the way the New YS fits into the motor mount:
http://www.avantrc.com/Products/Aurora/releaseinfo/NewYSFit.jpg
If you shave that small molding gate tip off the engine still touches the motor mount center so the circle that touches the motor mount center is the one that needs to be shaved off from the motor mount center just a tiny bit.
And this is how the old one fits:
http://www.avantrc.com/Products/Aurora/releaseinfo/OldYSFit.jpg
In the old one there is enough space so no mod is needed.
As you can see there is very little that needs to be shaved from the motor mount center to make it fit the new one without touching.
Bob will show how to do it in his video and then most people are going to realize that it isn't worth it to get a different one.
G MAN I don't receive PMs from Helifreak but I do receive e-mails from Helifreak. The reason is that I don't check PMs on Helifreak every day so if I allow PMs instead of e-mails then people here are going to think I'm ignoring them when in reality I haven't checked the PMs here.
Anyone that wants to get in touch with me can do it via email or via PM at the Avantrc.com website.
Also the order in which HP kits are being shipped was not determined by us. It was determined by a list we received from Heliproz. We are not aware who ordered first. We only followed the list they gave us. If you have an issue with it you need to contact them because we are simply following their instructions.
Augusto.

I know this is a minor detail but, those shims in build part 4 are not 1,2,and 3mm thick. They are 1 tenth of a mm,2 tenths of a mm and 3 tenths of a mm.,so you are only off by 2.7mm on your shiming.

I guess I missed it, I thought he said .1, .2 and .3 mm. or I guess I just put in the point myself in my mind and just didn't trip over it. Bottom line all that matters is that there's 3 different size shims that you can use to make the gears fit correctly. Being that bob's doing this on-the-fly, with out a script, he is doing a GREAT job! I don't thing anyone else can do better.

G-man i don't understand why you have to nit pick bob's vids. imo you would earn the right to pick if you made a build vid then we held the first ever helifreak build vid awards and let the forum members vote on the vids. till this happens shut the &^%$ up.
I nominate fireup for the best supporting actor category.

If we have to fire Bob and hire G Man, I am so out of here!
Any one know if G Man stands for GIRLY MAN? He sure *****es like a woman. (no offence meant to the Lady Freaks)
Bob I enjoy your vids and your mistakes, I'm a builder myself and hate watching shows like This Old House. There is no reality to them when they have been scripted and edited, after 20years of doing this I know that nothing goes that smooth!
Thanks again Bob!
