I just walked inside from another beautiful flight with my Knight 600E 8s bird.:happyd I decided to throw caution to the wind and just ring it out!! I'm now waiting for the pack to cool off before charging.

Anyone else having fun with their Knight 600E?

What should my maximum temps run on my motor, ESC, Lipo?

if you cant hold onto them after the flight then they are too hot :-)

the knight i flew was luke warm after a flight.

My last 2 flights were like that..... everything was a bit hot. Couldn't hold any of it for more than 5-10 seconds.

4:20 putting back 3300 out of a 4270 8s pack. I start the timer then flick off throttle hold. When my timer beeps I flip into normal mode and land.

3300 should be fine how hot is your esc and motor?

Everything is very toasty..... The Lipo you can hold, but it gets hard after 15 seconds of heat radiating into your hand.

The Castle 85HV ESC gets very hot I can't touch it longer than 4 seconds without doing a dance.

The motor gets hot but you can still touch it.

I have the ESC up on the nose away from much air may be why it gets so hot.

hard to say without being there but sounds like you may want to go down a tooth on he pinion. what is your head speed, what is your throttle curve set to in the radio?

I don't own a tach. Gov mode 33% any higher and it hits the top of the governor. I need to try 31% or 32%..... HC set it up so I haven't plugged it into a castle link to see all the settings. I wonder what HC current setting are.

It was 90+ outside when I was flying and I was really putting the smack down on it. When it was cooler outside around 80 and I was flying it easier everything was much cooler.

Can you actually get different pinion's... I don't think you'll be able to the motor look's to be in a fixed position.

Well I've been thinking it over I'm nearly positive I'm just over pitching it and it was hot outside that day. I will know more at the end of the day as I'm going out to fly again.

you should have no more than 11*. it can handle a bunch more but i think even HC uses 10 or 10.5. i'm running +/- 10.5 on nitro and have plenty of pop power and it doesn't load the head up. also make sure you have only 5* on cyclic, any more and its a waste. HC runs 8* but you should never need more than 6 tops. you saw rooster fly and he is around 4* and i'm right around 5 ail 6 elev

I will make those adjustments.

I flew it today. 90 degrees ambient. I flew it pretty easy with some large loops, rolls, stall turns & Pirouettes. Did much better temp wise. Lipo & motor where warm the ESC pretty dang hot but still cooler than before. I have it mounted way up front so it doesn't get much air.
