Just upgraded my Logo 500 from a GY401 to a Spartan DS760. I just finished dialing the gain and the piro rates in tonight. The winds were quite high 25km/h + and the tail held like a champ in some pretty demanding backwards flight. My once wandering tic-tocs were crisp and stationary - this is the first time I I could tic-toc until I felt like stopping (instead of blowing the tail out). This is simply an amazing gyro. It woke up my Logo - I have never flown anything better than a 401 so perhaps that is why I am so impressed. Just wanted to share.

Cheers,

Chad

Please list key points that make it better than 401

From my experience I have noticed these two key performance improvements:

- holds tail far better in backwards flight, my tail would blow out with the 401 in fast backwards flight on a moderately windy day 20km/h+ winds
- tail control is more precise and accurate than the 401

Add to that that the piro rate is constant in both directions and you have complete control over piro stop etc...

Completely customizable and firmware updatable
1/2 the size of a 401
Consistent piro rates
User can fine tune this gyro to his exact liking and flying style with stop gains, acceleration rates.
Can use virtually any tail servo on the market
Individual right and left travel adjustments
Setups files can be saved and shared with other users (Bert K has setup files that are customized for each of the Trex models)
Good instructions written in real english

It's really not fair to compare the 401 to the Spartan. They are in totally different classes between flight characteristics and price. The Spartan offers performance at the same level as a 611 but in something far smaller and updatable for future changes.
