I never had to open/inspect a ringed engine before, but when I opened up my OS.50-Hyper to inspect its bearings, when reinstalling I was completely stuck on refitting the piston back with the sleeve!

the ring is blocking the way, after several attempts to compress the ring, i broke the ring! and scratched the piston. its my fault i didn't ask for guidance. but there you go! i'll have to order piston and ring.

is there a special way on installing the ringed-piston without doing harm to it? is there a special tool? please help!

Thanks,

Bonsai

Yhea Ali you call me and I will tell you what you did wrong.. there is a pin in the ring groove and you must align it with the piston ring ..then it will compress enought by hand to install it...

The piston is directional so the ring end gap will not fetch on a port. usually the arrow if so marked on the piston crown points to the exhaust but no always
