I have one.

It is a very nice, solid flying machine.

Very easy to fly and very quick for its size.

I kind of upgrade my R90 std to a R90 3D, and I love it. From all the heli's I've had I've had my R90 the longest.

I fly the R90 SE and I`m verry happy with it. It has a a few glitches taht have no problem solving. the 3D is a bit lighter.

Rotohead where do you live? I am from Hazleton or NE PA. Also the only heli guy at my club always looking for heli guys to fly with. I was going to get a R90 3-D but am holding out for the 700n after I got my 600N I really liked the 600 and already have 2 MA Tempest 90's.

Rotorhead,

Why are we scaring the crap out of you?

Vandelescrow found a few problems and was kind enough to post them so that people can look out for them as they build their machines.

The fuel tank issue applies only if you are running a highly presurized fuel tank (i.e. running a YS).

The clutch liner is easy to correct before assembly (mine has not had this problem, but I have seen several reports of it on the forums).

The tail pushrod guide issue is easily corrected by using more CA as you build (more than the instructions state).

I flew my Raptor 90 today, and it was great-extremely easy to fly and completely stable (neutrally stable).

To add to what Ah Clem said:

Wayne Mann, one of the top ten FAI pilots in the world flew my 90 3D to tune the engine for me, he was very surprised how well it tracked. Even with it set up as agressive as I could get it, it still tracked perfect in forward flight. Once he had the engine tuned and a about a gallon of fuel through the engine, I asked him to wring it out and put it through its passes, the engine never bogged and seamed to beg for more. It did everything he asked it too and the only thing he didn't like was how little hang time in an auto it had, this was attributed to my using the Radix 710 stick bangers. However, for me moving up from a Raptor 50SE, the hang time seamed endless.

P.S. as a side note, I asked Wayne about the Goebee belt drive conversion, He said all of his competition helis are belt driven. He also said the only time you would need the speed up gears for the tail is doing presision hover at vary low head speed. Also during tunning of the engine we started getting the needles clogged. The filters I've been using on all my heli's are not fine enough for the YS91, Wayne recomened the "Dynamite" filter, I found it at Rons Hiliproz South.

the comments that vandelescrow made were great. saves you time when you build yours...good stuff.

i just don't think i'm ready for a 90 yet. once i can fly my gaui 200, trex 450, and Rappy E550..AND bring them all home in one piece, i will consider it. i'm going to learn as cheaply as possible.

then the 90 will come.
