Discharge balancing - whats the point?

Hi there.

My hyperion balancer and my astro blinky have the option of discharge balancing, I was just wondering what the benefit of this is if you are balancing as you charge. Interestingly even after a "balanced" charge, there still seems that some discharge balancing that takes place.

If you charge your packs to 100% and then decide not to fly, it is best to discharge them to 50-70% for longer term storage. Its in the manual explaining it
