Putting this here coz you guys frequent this forum more.

Well as i mentioned got my Hitec Optic 6 Computer radio with servo's and the whole kit-n-kaboodle. so i put the electronics in tonight..... Programming the radio was quite easy (RTFM) :)

Ok right side of heli (Pitch Servo)
http://i31.tinypic.com/2pq2tkn.jpg

Left side of Heli (Aileron Servo)
http://i29.tinypic.com/4qshhs.jpg

(i might have said the above in reverse but who gives a damn, its working :) )

Elevator Servo (i was surprise everything fit so neatly with the stuff provided with the heli) and yes thats the esky rate gyro, not to worry a replacement is on its way, just put that there to get servo's all working correctly.

Hitec receiver that came with the radio.... This wount stay in very long as it will be replaced with the 9 channel FS8 radio reciever that comes with FMA's Co-Pilot FS8 (that reciever is also smaller than this one so everything should fit fine on the front top tray, although there is tons of space all over the heli to put pretty much anything you want.

And here she is as it is right now (for those that dont know, that table is 4 ft diameter :) )

Whats coming ........

GY401 Gyro
FS8 Co-Pilot w/ Z-axis
Scorpion 80A with Switching BEC 4A (all in one unit)

PS the radio rocks :) And its not 2.4Ghz LOL.. :P

Hey Dier , is there no autorotation gear on this heli ?

DierWolf
05-21-2008, 10:53 PM
No single gear but you can still autorotate.... its called "non driven tail gear" setup.....

during autorotation the tail simply weathervains.

Interested in the Esmart, does this mean less control in autos?

Grant_beltcp
08-01-2008, 08:34 PM
It means that you have no control over the tail during an auto, sadly something i like to do is flair up and half piro just before an auto landing which this heli cant do. Although there are some good features on this heli, i havnt ever seen one in real life or managed to fly one to compare it to my 600n.

I love my optic its great, i dont ever want or need that spectrum stuff.i only had one incedent with 72mhz cause of the crappy esky receiver and i would rather have a glitch than those brown outs! im getting that same Q-pcm receiver heard its rock solid, are you going to fly with it at all?i hope to get something a little bigger once i outgrow my belt.make sure you get some flight vids for us!

Heli Yea!

Nice DW, the Esmart and my nitro ShuttleZX are the same size(1115mm). I want to covert it to electric but, for the cost I can get an Esmart witch is what I may just do! Either way it will be at a future date though.:dontknow How many hours for the Build? They look fun I still haven't got the nerve to fly my shuttle yet, cause this was my dad's heli and if I crash it(which I would:roll:) he'd feel the pain too.

Unbelievable value Mr.Wolf, how much did you pay about $200 + the optic:)

Looks good . I've been flying mine for a few months now and love it. You might want to rethink those servos though. I tried 422s and they didn,t do this bird justice. Not enough speed or centering ability.I went with 6965 digitals and now it is really locked in.

Never had a problem with the servo's i am using, still goign strong and Centers perfectly fine... Never tried 422's so i wouldnt know... these run smooth as silk and very strong.

Bird was 199
Optic 6 w/ servos was 209
speed controller (mystery 80A) was $15 :)
Gyro was 45
CCBEC 10amp bec was $24

Do that with a Trex :) Dont think you can even buy the kit for that price.

DierWolf the trex 600 electric kit with esc and motor and external bec is £230. Maybe not in most shops but if you look hard enough they do sell for that price.

Thats not much less than what you paid for a almost working esmart but it does include the esc. So that is something that is included.

The trex 600 nitro isn't really expensive either. I can get one of those working for relativly cheap. (Radio + reciever not included).

It's mostly about looking everywhere untill you find the cheapest prices.

Thats a really good price for a Trex 600 but DW got his off ebay for $200 so we could have got it for around £100 Esc and Bec another £20 or so, that is rediculously cheap

At the 3D masters Skyline models had the 600n pro for sale at £200. with an OS50 hyper engine it was £290, ultimate bargain!!!
Nor knocking the e-smart, but from the looks and design of it i dont think its got ultimate 3D capabilities. although for good aerobatics and scale flying looks great value.

Guys I know im 16 but that doesn't mean im stupid:happyd

He spent $492 on that esmart which is £256. I can get a trex 600 kit for £230. Simple. And yes, I know he had all the servos to make a working heli but here is his quote. (Below)

Dont think you can even buy the kit for that price.

Just proving my point that you CAN get a t600 kit for less than a working Esmart.

Ian, like I said. I was just making my point that you can get a trex 600 kit (With ESC) for cheaper than a flyable Esmart.

I had a B in my mock exams, I think I can handle simple exchange rates:)

Oh yes sorry:YeaBaby: I do have dificulty absorbing information sometimes:banana

Any way congrats on your B how were the rest of your results, what did you get for Art??

I know the point you are making that contrary to DW's soap box ranting against the cost of the Dark side, they are brilliant heli's at a good price. And I agree.

The only point I am making is that the price he got his Esmart makes it an absolute bargin. Though I also agree with Grant as you don't see them at 3D comps.

Jonnyheli

Ian I agree, at that price you cant go wrong. Just like to prove my points:D

They were just my mock exams. I will be getting my proper GCSE results at the end of this month. For art, I had an A for the drawing. But I also get marked for my coursework so I don't know what my total grade will be. All the rest were ok. I am hoping that the hardwork put into the coursework will boost up my GCSE marks.
