is Phoenix compatible with x9303? Has anyone done it? How does it perform? I know it's a pain in the neck to make the G4 work with this radio so I was wondering how Phoenix does.

I use a X9303 radio with zero problems..Hooks right up and works like any other sim radio...

As with any other radio, you just have to make sure you set up a separate model in the radio with no eCCPM mixing enabled. That's usually set in the model's swash setup menu. On the DX7, the setting is "1 SERVO"; I don't know what terminology the 9303 uses.

I just ordered mine direct last week. Ordered it on a Saturday and rec'd it on a Wednesday and that's from the UK to Cali. They ship Fedex and delivery was surprisingly quick.

Well, I just ordered it from their site. I was able to set up my radio to work with my g4 but I'm really not impress with the G4 performance. So now I will be able to test it. I guess I can have one at home and another at work :YeaBaby:

Your next step is to get on the phoenix social group !!! We have alot of custom flying fields and we also organize the nightly online funfly :)

Really? How does that work? I'm a beginner. I can hover and make somewhat turns on the real heli. Same on the sim. Don't like much G4 so I haven't really use it much. I'm hoping to get a better sim and see if I can get into it.

To join the group, click on User CP in the bar toward the top of the page and you'll see a link for Social Groups along the lefthand side. Click on that, find the Phoenix group, click on the link, and click Join in the red title bar.

As for the virtual fun flies, you have to make sure you've gotten all the program updates from the Phoenix website and the fields whose link URLs are at the top of the Phoenix social group page. Once they're installed, you just run Phoenix and join the online session. I don't remember the session name, but it should be pretty obvious.

Sessions are always either helifreak or Delaware Heli. You can find the password for the sessions and the teamspeak info on the social group. They are usually hosted by WJackson or Hopntod. The custom fields are a must as we always use them and if you dont have them you wont be able to join in.

That's cool! can't wait to get my copy in the mail. Since Phoenix doesn't come with a radio.... does it mean that I can install it on more than one computer and just carry my radio with the cord around? It would be nice if I can use it at work and home!

Yup. When i visit my folks/brother i bring my heli and phoenix dongle with me.

As far as I'm concerned, Phoenix got it right with regards to copy protection. I don't like software that has a copy protection dongle solely for that purpose (used to be really prevalent, not so much anymore), but in this case it has a practical purpose.

Thanks guys, I ordered my Phoenix and I should be getting it on Thursday. I will look forward to testing it.
I joined the group so now I just have to be a better pilot to join you online

I wouldn't worry too much about how good of a pilot you are. I'd bet that the session hosts would welcome pilots of all skill levels. If not, I don't want to be a part of it.

Yup, we have regular pilots who range in skill from helimix all the way up to the capi :P

OK, I have the sim now and I'm trying to set it up with my X9303. Any tips that you guys can share? I thought I saw an old thread but can't find it.

One trick that I've found helpful is to enable the extra 2 flight modes. I use the extra flight modes to disable expo & dual rates, and make the throttle and pitch curves linear. This way, when you calibrate your radio in the sim, it sees full movement of the surfaces.

Setting up the radio is quite easy (if you don't want to fly that stupid half plane, half heli).

Create a new model with 90deg swash. Then setup your rates/expos, and curves to match what you usually fly with. I had to use graph paper to figure out the 7 point pitch/throt curves versus the 5pt.

OK, I will try that when I get home tonight. The graphics were REALLY good compared to what I've seen with the G4.
Thanks!
