Align 315 Pro woodies. Cheap, durable, great quality. They need a little modification to work on the plastic head, but it's totally worth it.

Hi CWB, and welcome to the best BeltCP forum around. Glad you found us. Yes as Mika [one of the Aces :noteworthy ] suggested, go with the woodies for starters as you will ding them. The Align 315pro woodies are so much better than the stock Belt ones, and only a touche more costly. What is your background? Planks, or other copters?

Speaking from experience of Lama, HoneybeeFP then Belt, the Belt flies "properly", and is obviously not as easy as a coaxial. It actually flies beautifully, IF you get it set up properly, and that is where you will spend a lot of time. Use some good training gear - to save on blades - and be meticulous about your setup. Go through the Finless Bob White videos. When the stock stuff fails - and it will - use this sites experience to get the best upgrade parts; no shortage of that info -see stickies. The head and tail are not great, but they are OK, and after poainstaking efforts, you will get a good setup and she will fly nicely
Dont worry about asking any ??s on this forum, we are all here to help all of us get better and get the most out of our Belt.
Good luck,
:cheers

Like Mike siad
May I ad that the belt is unforgiving if you make a mistake or don't follow procedures it will punish you that is why this heli is a good learner, once you get it flying the pain will go away until you make your next mistake and speaking from experience, mistakes you will make
Don't take heliflying lightly or it will bite you
I hope I scared you a little bit :):)

My heli does every thing I tell it to, It flies beautifully though I have done quite a few mods on it including fitting a Trex style head.
You just need to be methodical about learning to fly it as it it very easy to lose your orientation then you nearly always crash.
when you move from hovering to flying forwards it can start movng very quickly and you need to know what to do next.
Get plenty of sim practice, not tearing around but precisely hovering from one spot to another. practice hovering tail in, side on, and nose in.
When you can hover side on with the real heli, you can start your first moves into forward flight, fly from side to side in front of you turning the nose in the direction of travel. Increase the amont you turn the nose untill you are flying figure 8's
It's cheaper and quicker to treat it with respect.

If I can do it, it isn't that hard!
I moved to the Belt from Lamas.
The main thing is to make sure you have enough room to fly in.
I hovered pretty well on my first flight. I did end up crashing it, but I was flying in my garage and didn't have enough room to recover when I over controlled.
The second flight outside - no crash.
I've crashed plenty since then, but it's always when I push it and try something new.
I've actually found it no more expensive to repair than my Lamas were!

Bent main shaft - replace with an Align carbon steel. Mine has withstood ALL the treatment my poor belt has suffered!!!!!!!! Superb upgrade, a must!!!!
Main Gear - the belt stock one is crap. The blade 400 ones are better [ from Fast-Lad ], but the Helimax is the best [ from Gerd at beltcp.co.uk ]
Mike
must i put the t rex shaft in the other way around?

Yes - upside down so the groove for the collar set screws doesn't ride in the upper bearing.
what do you guys think about the fibreglas blades?

They are "The Bomb" its what i use on my belt, the align ones, they balance and track perfect and very hard to break..
