Are the ferrite magnetic rings found on some esc's and becs required on 2.4 systems? I would think they are not necessary.

Good question .

I have taken them off as soon as I started 2.4 and never had a glitch for more then a year.
I don't think they are needed and I remember reading about that somewhere but I don't remember where.

You don't need them, electrical noise from an esc or motor occurs well below the frequencies used by 2.4g stuff.

Thanks much, I thought that was the case. They are a pain to route wires neatly, I will happily remove them tonight!

FYI, they are not glitch rings, but actually chokes. They choke out certain frequencies.

As they were used very prevelantly on 72 Mhz radios, I doubt they are activly choking out the frequencies in the 2.4 Ghz range.

But don't forget that the sinnals once they are decoded from 2.4 GHz are the same old frequencies as before. So you can get some noise directly into the servos if you aren't careful.

I leave mine on.

Took all of mine off as well, no problems.
