Beautiful day, lovely morning, so I went out to fly my Belt around the garden.

I'm just starting to progress from hovering to forward flight, so I was doing some slow, flat circuits around the yard.

As the Belt came by and I started a left turn it started to slide to the right and I lost orientation. I ran the collective all the way up and as soon as the Belt was silhuetted against the blue sky, I could see where the tail was and got re-oriented. I realised then that I was pretty high and without really thinking about it, I hammerd the collective and yanked all the way back on the cyclic. I was really surprised at how fast it inverted and then it went thru the back side of a big sloppy, ugly loop!

I got it down without crashing and it took a couple of minutes to quit laughing and shaking!

My first loop - big, sloppy, accidental and no Idle Up. Toooo Coool!!!

I'm afraid I'm going to have to intentionally violate the altitude limit imposed by the Sgt if I'm gonna try it again.

LOL, good save

I tell my bro this all the time when he gets in trouble but he insists on trying to recover at the same height he's in trouble at.....

I much rather have the extra time so i always punch out and get some altitude, if its gonna crash its gonna crash no matter what so might as well give yourself the best fighting chance.

...So wiz :) When you gonna yank the belt electronics out and put in the exi? or at minimum use the exi head on the belt.

I also picked up a complete set of Belt electronics off Ebay, so I'll have 2 flying (and crashing) 450s

This one:)

I just tried a coupla loops on the sim and crashed every time !

Yep, I've got 2 sets of electronics. I'm getting the Exi together, but it's such a beautiful machine that I'm going slow and savoring the build!

The direct servo to head connection is so simple and elegant, I gotta wonder why Esky went with all that linkage on the Belt. :thinking

It's all part of the Belt's quirky appeal to me (even though I spent some effort removing the links):YeaBaby:

Yeah Wiz i said the same thing... But after the first hover i hardly touched my Belts, they now sit in anticipation for my brother to crash so they can be flown LOL.
