YS motor mount...?

I'm very curious to see how this mod is done. In looking at the motor mount, it doesn't look like there's much wall thickness between the OML of the part and the internal pockets. Taking another .0625" off that "stepped" area looks a little scary to me.

I submitted a new thread on Avants Aurora Forum yesterday asking about these modified YS motor mounts that are suppose to be available (per Finless' video).
I also asked about the painted canopies that should be available soon (per Finless' video).

Well, 24 hours later the thread hasn't been posted, BUT several others have. The others that have - were posted well after the "time stamp" I posted.

There's no way this post got lost, so I'm not going to fall for that one! I've posted several other times, and once they're approved by "whomever" they all have been posted within 12 hours. I'm guessing "whomever" doesn't want to get caught up in another lie about availability......?

This is the kind of :BSS that will shy me away from Avant. I bet the YS motor mount will take 2 years to be available. And the canopies will never happen.... :mad:

Sure I can modify the existing mount, but I don't want to. A mount that works with both motors should come with the kit. And sure I can have a canopy painted, but I'm already tired of waiting for painters.........

It is VERY common to have to specify the motor mount you want for your kit. Try ordering a Stratus.

The Painted Canopies ARE available already, I know Finless has one and I have seen others.

Hi Will,

I know you're a big supporter of Avant, which is cool. I love a lot of aspects of the Aurora.

The thing that upsets me is when I ask a question on Avant's forum it has to be approved, then sometimes it's ignored...? Others have complained about the same thing. I wasn't *****in' about anything. I just wanted to know where the motor mounts are available and same with the canopies. Finless mentioned both in his video.

My post was ignored. :confused:

If these items are available, where are they listed?

Bob will show you how to do it soon. I bet the Avant RC people are busy shipping kits. Have you tried emailing their support email address?

Trust me... this is so insignificant it will not compromise the wall strength of the motor mount. Please stay tuned as I hope to have the mod video up tomorrow.

Augusto answered the thread with some GOOD pictures. Maybe that's what took so long to get the post up....?

Finless is correct, it looks to be no big deal. It doesn't even look like .0625" would have to be removed.

Finless, Will said you got a painted canopy.... Are they listed anywhere? Augusto didn't mention where they're for sale.
