Stock Hawk muffler

Does the Hawk Pro still come with that black muffler that the Hawk Sport used to come with? Are you using it?

I'm just wondering... After flying my OS32 with a better muffler for a quite a while, I decided to put the stock one back on to see the difference.

Wow! That stock muffler is really awful. I'd go so far as to say that it hurts the flyability of the heli. IMNSHO it should be thrown out immediately upon receipt.

If you are using this muffler, do yourself a favor and swap it out for something else.

Yes the Pro does come with the same muffler, even the toki 40 combo coems with it. It seems to hover ok on the toki, I havent put it in FFF flight yet.

The black muffler:

prevents the engine from idling properly, requiring a high-speed idle.
causes the engine to have a very rough (sometimes killing it) transition from idle to spin-up.
causes lethargic power, weak climbouts.
uneven running in hover... even with a governor.
... and it's loud.

I have a Hawk Pro with an O.S. .37. I am running the same muffler that you guys are talking about. What muffler should I get to replace the black one? :dontknow

This is the Century Speed muffler, it's the replacement.
There are a couple other options, but they are much priceier than this one.

When I bought my Falcon SE III, I already bought a Torpedo Speed Muffler from Century. I saw the black muffler on the century's web site. I think is just for raven, hawk. The black muffler is really so bad like you said???

Have you guys heard anthing about Century Silent Power Muffler. Its $10 more then the speed torpedo? Its found on the Century website, but they only show a picture of the muffler but they dont say anthing about it.
