View Full Version : Crash costs??? Not much in B-400
I've read comments on crash costs of hundreds of dollars - How, did the heli fly away and get lost? I've had at least three big ones, they are not very expensive, My last one - trying to do a coordinated turn before I was ready went in big time from about 18 feet. Damage:
Feathering shaft $2.50
Boom 3.50
Thrust bearing set 5.00 (only needed a couple of pieces)
Blade Holder 4.00 (only needed one)
Blades 12.00
Boom Support 2.00 (only needed one
_____
$29 .00 (the HS65MG's never strip)
This was my most expensive crash - the others were $10 and $12 each

I've been over $50 cause of twitchy servo after crash. Other than that its cheap. I could see coming down full force from 40ft would be over $100. Practically the entire bird at that point.

You should take a closer look at your heli, if you hit hard enough to break a blade grip, I'm pretty sure you need a main shaft. And if you bent the boom and broke a boom support, you better check the tail drive shaft, it doesn't take much to bend it, and when it is bent, you will have a bad vibration. Ask me how I know.

Trust in that. Almost every piece in the head, broken frame, tacoed pack, shattered canopy, and too much else to list, it can get well over $100 in a hurry.
Actually ,for some reason main shaft was OK everything else broke - my cost estimate was high tho - 1 of the blades is OK
Whoa - I wasn"t thinking 3D crashes, I guess I was thinking noobie CRASHES - I don't know if I want to progess to that 3D stage of not?? Sounds like expensive - wipe outs.
(have no idea what key I hit to screw up the print)
Hey sd0 you were right - I just took it out and tail shivered like a hula dancer!
