Saw the post on the 4easy way to change main gears. While that far can someone tell me how much more work to change the tail drive gear.

Not so easy as there are lots of bits in the way. [ My Belt has lots of mods, and is much 'cleaner' around the tail drive gear] you will have to move a couple of servos to clear the area, then loosen the frame sufficiently for it to come out. Then reverse the process. BTW, it is so much easier to put the small gear and locking clip back on when the spindle is off the copter - believe me, I tried it!!!!!!

Good luck with it,

I was sure hoping to hear an easier answer than that!
I had anticipated that was the case but hope springs eternal.
Sure wish I hadn't stripped that upper gear, but glad it wasn't worse.
Anyone have a video that would be instructive in this?
Thanks in advance,
Bill

I replaced the pitch slider and tail blade grips with those from a Blade 400 and its just a smooth and bind free as my Rex SE. Best change I ever made to the little belt. Also used the main gear from the Blade and its much easier to get the gears back into the frame plus its alot stronger.

There is a tutorial on the stickies on how to do the Trex Gear Mod, in tutorial shows how to remove the tail transmission gear.

I quote that section :

"it is possible to do this without takin the heli apart. you need to undo all the frame bolts from mainshaft backwards, and remove the tail assembly. with this done you should be able to spread the frame enough to get the shaft out."
