Gaui's are still rockin. Great to be able to step outside my door and go through a few packs.

On a side note, I am using the Nvidia stereo drivers for anaglyph (red/blue) 3d on Phoenix. Been a lot of fun flying on the sim with depth perception.

Phoenix kicks ass. Nothing fancy just good sim flying.

I wish I had the luxury of being able to do that . Glad you're having fun though :). I'm still working on that vibration problem, but I think I've got it sorted. Keep us posted.

I know what you mean Rotorhead58d. I feel the same way. I haven't flown Phoenix so I can't comment with that regard. But visually? Phoenix looks damn good.:YeaBaby: I keep feeling like I bought a brand new Corvette and finding out after the fact I could have had a ZR-1 for the same money.

If you have an Nvidia video card in your computer you can install drivers from Nvidia that will make your screen anaglyph or red/blue 3D. Then all you need is a pair of paper red/blue 3D glasses to add depth to the sim. I wont make things look like there popping out of the monitor, it looks like your viewing through a window, sorta like you can stick your hand into the monitor. Been a lot of fun.

wow, that seems cool. i'm gonna have to give that a try. BUT, when you get pissed off because you crash, don't punch the monitor:arggg:

That's sweet man, I may have to try that.... I was trying to land on stonehenge, but really hard to tell depth on the monitor. Also did a cx skids landing on a inverted heli, finally did it, but was really hard to tell distance and if we were really lined up.... and of course we were both laughing too hard at the time, which didn't help either:

Yup... some hotshots show up once in a while, and I pull up the tx view, and just sit back and watch in awe from their point of view. It's amazing to see the sticks in real time as they are performing crazy stuff like piro flips... it's mesmerizing! You can text chat in it too, and have made some friends just flying with them often online. The online feature is still beta, so sometimes not the easiest to connect and find servers, so I usually start servers and let others join :)

Sell G4 and get phoenix, updates are frequent, seem to find something new every couple of weeks... new patches, models, fields etc. And unlike realflight, these updates are ALL free. But the best thing is how it feels, just more like the real thing than realflight :)

Yeah I haven't tried that.... the whole online voice stuff sorta just creeps me out a bit lol... even in games, I just find it a bit uneasy....

Yeah,

I do like G4, but nowhere near the features, and I had to wait until ChopperSuey posted the 200sim to fly it in silicon.

Phoenix gets raves allatime.

what graphics card are you running buzz? and what would you recommend to achieve some of the better pics ive seen people posting? i checked the phoenix web site but they only say the minimum requirements.

I also use Phoenix and have tried several different computers and even get great results with one of my Nvidia FX5200 cards on a PIII 1GHz with only 1GB RAM. It seemed to work pretty well on a Geforce 3 card as well. I like the fact that it does not seem to be a resource hog at all.

Yeah I have geforce cards as well. My G3.5 kills my system, it would drop frame rate, like it's glitching up and down, and not keeping up a steady consistent frame rate. No problems on the pheonix, I've tried it on a slower computer and had to turn down a few things to get the frame rate up, but would maintain with no issues. And the graphics looks even better than g3.5 imho.

im running nvidia 7300le right now which was pretty good when i got it three years ago.... but it runs g4 fine except for the fields with water. i downloaded the phoenix demo and it ran medium fine as well, the water in phoenix doesnt seem to have the drastic effect on frame rate that the g4 water does. id really like to run phoenix in the highest quality possible with out spending $400 for the latest and greatest. im also curios what it takes to run the program buzz is running.
