View Full Version : CC BEC causing interference or damaged?

When I bought my blade 400, the pitch servo was twitchinl ALL the time. I called HH, they told me the servo was bad and sent me a new one. I installed it and the twitching was gone.
Now I installed a Castle Creations Bec and I have twitching all over the place. If I go back to the internal Bec from the esc, all is well.:arggg:

Please help me, do you think the CC BEC is causing interference, or could it be bad?
any suggestions?
Thanks

Try removing the signal wire from the CC BEC. It should not be needed for normal operation.

I have one installed on my rock crawler and the CC rep recommends this to help avoid glitching. Please do a control check before flying

I called CC and the rep told me the same thing. However, it did not solve my problem.

I wonder if the servo will twitch if it were plugged into another channel? Did you disconnect the power wire from the ESC? Having 2 BECs, one from the ESC and an external, is known to cause issues.

Yes I disconnected the red wire from the esc. And all servos are buzzing at any position non stop. But only with the CC BEC. No problems with the internal ESC/BEC.

I don't know what else to tell you. The CC BEC outputs 5.1V, the ESC BEC may output at a lower voltage and this might be causing the servo issues. I have heard that the stock servos are junk anyway. I am going to be replacing mine fairly soon.

I tested the voltage on the ESC/BEC and CC BEC and they were both at 5.04V. So I believe they both output 5.1V and there is a loss in the wire/terminals.
I know, I am running out of options.
Whoodie, you said, you would replace the servos. Which are your considering? Would you need to put an external BEC?

I was also thinking to leave the stock cyclic and replace the tail with 9257 (digital) Ideally I would want to replace the cyclic also (digital maybe?) there are new futabas that should be tried.

A lot of people like the hitec 56mg for the cyclic. I would like to go that route and get a digi for the tail as well as a 401 gyro. I am going to run a CC BEC when I switch.

Isn't the HS56 low on torque for a blade 400?

Sorry, Dyslexia kicking in. I meant HS65MG.

I called CC again, and they are sending me a new CC BEC. It looks like the one I have is damaged. Let's hope that fixes the problem because I want to set up a BEC and be able to upgrade the servos.

I have a ccbec also. Before I was using hs-55 and stock gyro/servo in the tail. Now I have ds285 in cyclics and csm420e and 9650 on the tail. Tomorrow will be test flight and I'm excited.

I didn't have any problems with my ccbec. The only reason I use it is in the first set-up the esc is quite hot and I'm just hovering. On the second set-up it might burn down coz they say running digital increases amp and heat of course. Now the esc barely warm and still running 5.1v in the ccbec coz I don't have the cable link yet.

Given the chance I will run 6volts in my 400 thats just my 2 cents.

Sounds good, let us know how the test flight goes and what you think could improve!
