It happened a few minutes ago. I was hovering my heli and it all worked ok. i did some practice, turning the nose left and right. later i did some hard turns and immediately the heli begins to drop even at full trottle. i thought it was the battery but i only flew it for just 4 minutes. to be sure i changed it to a newly charged battery. same thing happened, it only lifts an inch from the ground at full trottle.
observation.
1. both motors still works. sound seem different
2. both blades still turn but no lift.
3. 4-in-1 controller iniatializes, servos work
4. checked the screws that hold the inner and outer shaft- tight, nothing loose
5. gears are intact. it contacts to its corresponding spur gear.
any opinions? what are the signs of burned motor? damaged 4-in-1 controller?

Take the body off and try holding the gears while you turn the blades. If you can turn one of the rotors while holding the gears still, something is loose.
The most common cause for this is a loose set screw in the collar of the bottom gear.
It may also be a problem with your battery charger, if it's not fully charging the batteries, the heli won't lift out of ground effect.
If you haven't seen it yet, here's a link to some pics of the mechanics and assembly instructions.

thanks mnwizard.
got to fix it last night. well i dismantled the heli. removed the motors and turned it on while holding the pinion gear. i was thinking of the pinion gear coming loose from the motor shaft, but all was ok. i noticed that when i removed the motor supplying power to the inner shaft from the main frame, the 2 screws were not tight. i returned it, tightened all motor screws and there it was! it flew!
when the motor screws loosened, there was an increased play between the main gear and pinion gear. at high rpm the main gear wont mesh with the pinion gear. lucky i didn't strip the main gear

Yep, you're lucky the gear wasn't stripped!
Glad you're flying again!

mnwizard, have you tried/ is there other good aftermarket ball linkages for the bottom blade holder?

I'm not sure what you're referring to. Are you talking about the control rods from the servo arms to the lower blade holder?

the one connecting from swashplate to lower blade holders.

I've never had a need to use anything other than the Esky control rods, but if you look in the airplane section of your LHS there is a wide selection of linkages.
Are you having a problem with the stock links?
