Well, I was wondering why 2 out of 3 times I took the FCO2 up, it came back with no data. So I finally went to their website, and using google translate, I read some threads on their forum.

Very, very unreliable.

I installed their firmware update, and took it for a flight... same problem, no data. It seems the vibration shuts it off. And there are tons of other problems, and lots of unhappy owners.

Thereafter, I left it on to charge, and instead of charging, it bled it down. Now it won't turn on without being hooked to the PC, and when I do have the PC hooked up, it only stays on for a few seconds. It's basically dead.

I'm going to find a way to return it, if I can. Shame. I think I'll live without 450-sized AP, and just work on my flying.

Disappointing side trip.

man i had the same problem.. eventually it turned on and charged.. but i can't install the firmware the pc only sees the sd card..

i did shoot a video for about 5 mins and it was stuck when i landed.. only can take short videos..

basically i think.. get a cheap digital camera and strap that on..

side note: i tried a wireless camera and crashed cause it ran on the same freq as my tx ;`(

Yeah, mine came back to life... I removed the SD, and plugged it into the PC in the "off" position... on about the 3rd try, it stayed on long enough to charge.

I just got back from the field, took a 6:30 video, noted that it was hard to get it to leave record mode, seems to have switched modes on the fly.

If there's no data file on there, I'm going to smash it into small pieced with a large hammer.

It might be time to stop thinking about video, and go back to thinking about my flying. Actually, my original goal was to strap it to a hat or something, and make videos of my flying, to make it easier to ask for advice.

The heck with it... stick time stick time stick time...

OK, had a nice fat video file on the SD card, sweet!

Oops: "PICT0001.AVI could not be imported. The selected file is not valid or is corrupted."

Now, where's that hammer?

Are you using a top end SD card? Like a A-Data or Sandisk Extreme III ?

If so I think you should return it for replacement, I havent had any trouble with mine at all, has worked like a dream since day one

Returned mine to Acme in Germany, still unreliable. Using Kingston elite pro 50x - still crap.:arggg:

50X isn't fast enough... The minimum SD Card speed requirement for the Flycamone2 is 10MB/Sec, which is 66X. I am using a Toshiba Class 6 (20MB/sec or 133X) SD Card in mine.

Thanks for the specifics. I'm using OCZ 80X 2GB.
Corrupt files, missing files, etc.

Run their forum through translate.google.com

OK... I guess I'm the only one not having a problem with this thing.

I had a similar lock up problem where it wouldn't turn off while recording, but discovered the battery was nearly dead. The battery doesn't hold a charge for very long, and causes weird errors when it gets weak..... I'm fortunate enough to have my own field so it's only a 10 minute walk between unplugging from the computer and actually using it. It does a pretty decent job on my little T-Rex- at least for me...... I have a video from a recent flight ( Nothing fancy... it was held onto the canopy with 2 rubberbands.....) at-

I posted here a bit back... I had the same problem with video won't stop recording, especially with longer videos, like 5 mins. It would happen 1 out of maybe 6 times. The only way is to turn it off, which looses the video. This was happening after the firmware update...

The solution was trying a different brand of SD card, it magically fixed the issue, never had any problems not being able to stop recording since.

Crabfu, what card are you using now?

I picked up a cheap sandisk 2GB on clearance to try.... It doesn't say anything on it but Sandisk, and I'm not sure of the specs on it, but it works great. What I was using before was raidata 2GB lightning series, had 2 of them, both did the same thing with not being able to stop recording.... and both worked well for my digital camera, never had problems recording stills or movies, but it just doesn't work well on the FCO2.

I'm using it with a Mac as the computer to read the files and so far no problems. I hope it works in the long run. What other similar choices are there in tiny flash based videocams? -Migs
