How the hell do you get the pinion off the Belt brushless motor shaft? Mine seem to be hermetically sealed to it, and it does not appear to want to budge. I want to try the Belt with the 11 tooth pinion rather than the stock 10 [whilst it is all in pieces and i have to do a complete rebuild]. I don't think you can just get a new shaft either.

Think you can heat it with a soldering iron without damaging the bearings?

Looks like the shaft can be extracted from the motor housing. Am more worried about damaging the shaft cos that would mean a new motor. Great. I cannot shift the allen headed screw holding the shaft either............

HOld the motor so that the shaft cannot turn.
Apply heat to the pinion itself and twist with pliers it will start to spin on the shaft as the locktite gets hotter, once it starts spinning you can turn and pull at the same time until it comes completely off..
Most probably you will damage the old pinion but thats ok, your changing it out anyways.
I did this to both my Belts to put on 13tooth pinions.
remember turn the pinion on the shaft first do not try to pry it off straight away.

I've got one of these - http://www.rcmods.co.uk/walkera-gear-puller-i634.html and it works a treat without any heating or damaging the pinion or shaft.

You can get a pinion puller for 5 bucks... It takes you 30 seconds to remove the old pinion with no damage to it...
I think its worth to have one in your tool box... I got mine at www.xheli.com (http://www.xheli.com)
