I've been getting help from my flying group to set my esc and transmitter but there are some things I don't understand.

I'm using a Jeti Spin 44 ESC with Scorpion -8. My transmitter is the Spektrum DX6i

At first when we were programming the transmitter, the motor could not throttle down completely once we've spooled up, even though Throttle Hold always works.

After that we turned off the governor feature on the esc and it still couldn't throttle down to zero. So we adjusted the EPA/Travel for the throttle on transmitter. Had to reduce to 87% before it actually worked.

Is this normal for Jeti Spin ESC?

ok. think I might have figured it out.
Shouldnt have left setting for ESC on Heli Auto if I don't intend to programme the High and Low Throttle stick positions with my Transmitter. I thought I had done it but maybe i reprogrammed the ESC with the JETI Box at some point in time, thereby (maybe) erasing the Low/High throttle stick positions.

Or maybe if I do that I'm supposed to start the heli with the throttle stick down but not with Throttle Hold switched on. This could be because my Throttle Hold has been programmed at -5% and my Throttle stick LOW position is only 0%. So the ESC must have thought that -5% was 0% and so 0% (Throttle stick LOW position) became +5%.

Anyway... what I've done now is to use the JETI SPIN BOX and start with Heli Auto setting then go on to Manual Settings and choose Heli Normal and to change whatever setting I want like motor timing and so on. And then... AND ONLY THEN, do I set the High & Low throttle stick positions with my Transmitter. :thinking:roll:
