From what I understand is that charging from a regular car battery can quickly kill the battery. I recently had to replace the battery in my car and installed an optima yellow top, gell cell deep cycle battery. my car has a stereo system, but did ok with a regular battery, but if I upgade the stereo system a little more,I'll need this battery, also I was hoping this battery would be better suited for charging at the field, any opinions on this? the chargers I have are cellpro 6s and polycharge 4. I would only be hooking up one charger, not both at the same time.

That's a nice battery ... I couldn't find an Optima that fit just right for my Jeep. The yellow top battery can be cycled without damage according to the literature.

Even both chargers together (5-6 Amps?) would not be a problem. Just keep the no-load voltage above 12VDC and you'll be fine to start your car and drive home at the end of a good flying day. You should be able to get 5-6 charges and not even notice a difference starting your vehicle.

Which jeep? I just got the yellow top 34/78 and it fit great in my jeep wrangler!

2002 Liberty ... every year since they increased the CCA capacity and changed battery types.
