What radio?

If its the 7 or 9 channel goto the AUX CH menu and find the channel you want and select the VR

There should be a menu for AUX CH or AUX CHANNEL

I'll download the book when I get a few minutes.

The VR control, it only adjusts the hovering pitch on the 7C when in helicopter mode. And when in airplane mode it adjusts the flap trims. It is not assignable, it will only control the one function.

Page 71 of the manual for the 7C
HOV-THR and HOV-PIT can assign the knob VR only to one of these functions at a time. Each time, assign the knob
, altitude or other changes in flying conditions are easily accommodated.
Both adjustments may be inhibited if not desired.
in these functions. Temporarily turning off the knob but maintaining the last memorized setting.

You can only assign Hover Pitch or Hover throttle to the VR knob.

Yep, David beat me to it. The 7c just isn't as flexable as the higher end radios like the 9C
