Just got phoenix running the other night, installed a freshly charged lipo into the tx plugged into the sim and started playing (very excited). When I noticed the faint smell of hot electronics I panicked and unplugged, first thought was lipo, its ok, tx still functioning. Plugged back in and played for an hour or so, shut it off and went to bed. Couldnt wait to get back at it today so I started phoenix and switched on the tx, nothing but a dim power light. What have I done wrong now?
TX is a T7CHP 3-4 years old, lipo is a 2500mah 11.1v maybe 6-7 cycles, I have been using this setup for about 6 months now with no problems.
Does the sim supply the tx with power and was I not to use the tx battery?

I'm not sure about the smoke, but usually, you don't have to turn on your transmitter. When you plug the sim into the trainer port, your radio should turn on by itself. In this state, it will not be enabling the RF pack in the transmitter.

If you left the sim plugged in the back when you went to bed, you may have just ran the battery down.

My 7C has to be turned on also. I find that if I remove the crystal, the battery lasts a lot longer. If you don't remove the crystal, you should extend the antenna. The 7C low voltage warning is way too low for a lipo. Hope this is of some help!

Thanks to all who replied, its not the lipo, its sitting right at 12v, even checked when the incident happened, good voltage. I cant believe this, now I need a new TX, thinking of going 2.4 so that means new RX also and I've lost all my settings, oh well and the beat goes on.
