Ok. I'll exspose my weakness. Nose in. I can do it when I have altitude since I have room to correct when I make a mistake. I've been practicing precision (?) nose in hovering and I have to tell ya, it's like starting over gain. Fun stuff though. Definately keeps me replacing wood blades.

Hey Buzz where did you finally find your Spartan gyro? It's like trying to find a lighter in a crack house.

There are links on hobby sites (ReadyHeli for one) so they will notify you as soon as they get in stock via e-mail. Then you have to have your credit card ready and order minutes after you get the e-mail. They sell out very very fast. I feel your pain. I waited for months to get two. Even had a few false e-mails from ReadyHeli but in the end got my hands on a couple.
It's worth the wait. I know you don't want to hear this but the Spartan 760 is simply an awesome gyro. At 10g? Nothing else comes close when you add everything up. Hold's as good or better than the big boys, weighs A LOT less and if you get the usb cable (a must IMO) then the features are amazing. To notch gyro.

Yeah I saw the thread where you got teased by the email alert. I think all this stuff should be readily available. The torque tube for the trex 500 is another classic example there were supposed to be plenty for everyone when they were released. I defy anyone to find a torque tube or spartan gyro. I have checked rc shops globally all for naught.
As to nose in, I can do it all day on the sim. But when that beeotch is staring at you at 3000 headspeed? I'm looking for an escape route cause she will chase you down, lol

Ditto on both items guys,
I used to fly inverted (well, a few times). But I'm back to basics for now. Lemme crash a few, and take the new off, she'll be a working heli in no time.
As far as parts go. I'm amazed by fast how stuff disappears! I'm hoping this means that we're in a popular, growing hobby, and soon all sorts of neat new stuff will be coming our way.

It's always like that with new gear. Especialy Align stuff. Happen's everytime. As far as the Spartan Gyro, there an extemely small shop compared to Align's (or others) cheap Asian labor power house's.
While I'm on my soapbox, Why isn't there a decent American made Heli? Come people we led the world for so many years why can't we do the same here?

Yes 90% American made. Watch Finless' video. There is a chance they'll do an electric, it's also stated in the Aurora section.... Augusto has stated they may do one.
I saw 3 Aurora's last weekend in Bakersfield. They sold me on getting one!

Buzz, you have to sell those CX2's and get the Hirobo Quark SRB. 10 times the heli of the CX2. You'll learn nose in much better. The SRB flies like a single rotor heli (because it is), but is still very, very stable. I practice nose-in with the SRB every night.
It's expensive, but the quality is top notch!
