I have an interesting dilemna. I am in Iraq, and new to flying gas heli's. I was going to get my rappy sent out here, but then I found out I cannot have the nitro shipped here due to FAA regulations. So I was thinking about getting a gasser, as I can get the gas here with no problem.. Can someone tell me out of them, which is the best for me? Thank you for your help.

Contact Bonsai here on Helifreak. He is in Kuwait and he is getting nitro fuel without any problem I believe.

A friend of mine started with a Gasser
He learned to hover and move around a bit before giving the hobby up due to time restrictions.
He never crashed...but he was'nt doing flipping take offs either.
Heli's have a BIG learning curve and it can cost alot to get to where you want to be.

To answer your second question: There is not a bad Gasser being made today.

Thank you for the help. But even thoug Kuwait and Iraq are neighbors, they are two seperate beasts as far as personal hobbies. Kuwait is a very developed country, almost equal to America. There are McDonalds, etc, but most importantly Hobby Shops there. However in Iraq, there are no hobby shops like that. They seel lots of knock-off itemse, but trying to find a qualiy product here -such as good fuel- has worse odds than the lottery. I really do aprreciate your help.

Right now I am in the process of getting a Bergen, with the original Z23 engine. I figure since this is the smallest Zenoah engine available, I will be a little better off than getting the biggest possible one. I have heard alot of good about gassers, and look forward to flying. Thank you.

Ask Tapeworm321 here about starting with a gasser as he is flying very well and started with a Bergen Intrepid Gasser EB. As for the G23, they may have some cooling issues in very hot climates. The newer Zens, cool better and have a lot more power. The gas consumption is probably very close to the same.

I started flying with a bergen eb. I have the g26 and run 710s instead of 810s. GReat ship. It taught me to fly. Once the engine was broke in, never really have to touch the needles again.
