Hi!
I just installed my new motor. First off, the scorpion looks cool :) maybe a little bit small...
What I don't like is that you have to modify the shaft. I like the Gaui shaft much more. Anyway no big deal just a few minutes work. Everything else is pretty much straight forward. Difference between Gaui 1100kV and Scoprion 1600kV isn't that big. No real power difference in flight. With scorpion my hurricane reacts a little bit faster when changing pitch. The motor seams to have a little bit more power. RPM holds a little bit better. It's smaller than the Gaui, installing is no problem at all.
I'm using:
14T motor pinion - 60 fron - 20T OWB - 61 back
7s A123 / 50A Gaui Esc / 530 SAB blades / plastic frame
The Gaui Esc ist set to throttle curve with Idle 1 = U-shape starting at 76% and Idle 2 = 100%. The only real difference is a lower power consumption. I got 1 min more with pretty much the same (test) flight.

btw. that the new HK3026 version...

FWIW, the HK3026-1400 has a higher output rating than the 1600, plus it would be a little easier to gear.

Yes, but it looks like the consumption is higher and I saw a log from an 1600kV - 6s Lipo - setup with more than 1600 watt. I think this scorpion is capable of doing much more. I'll test a new Esc and perhaps the next step will be 6s lipos. The only cool thing when using A123 is their low charging time. Capacity is really low and they don't have much power...

I'm running 6S lipo 3200mAh, which is similar to 7S A123. I figured my gearing needed to be 15T for 2400 rpm with 68/20/61 gears. I just figured the 1400 would be more efficient than the H18 motor I have on there now with similar power.

I wanted to buy the 1400kV Version too. But the no-load current sound strange. After seeing logs from an 1600kV I thought it's the right decision. I'll get a new Esc soon and replace the stock one. I hope that helps. Right now there's no difference to the 1,5KW stock motor besides flight time. The only positive point right now :(
I'll maybe switch back to 6s. I don't get much power out of my A123 and the voltage level isn't that high. Maybe 8s A123 would have been a better choice. If I calculate it right, 8s A123 should bring up to 1450 watt.
