Hi i am thinking of using this motor for the 600 but remember that the Z motors do not have anything to lock the shaft so it doesn't move (eg no circlip) usually you butt up the pinion to stop it.

How does this work for the 600 3D as the gear is herringbone, does the pinion butt up against the motor bearing? Do i need a spacer? Can i run no spacer as the gear design will not allow the shaft to move up and down?
Thank you

I'm running the motor with just a pinion and no additions of any kind. I am considering the counterbearing but no problems so far.

So the shaft is not fixed at all?

When powered up the magnets hold the motor together so no issue there, the counter bearing will keep the pinion centered as there was said to be an issue with the shaft flexing on those motors if pushed hard.

Why is the logo the only heli i have seen use the counter bearing??? Surely it would pose a problem on other helis?

The HB maingear setup does not tolerate any movment or misalignment. No other heli uses such a gear set

I use the Z50-800 on the L600 - before the counterbearing I stripped two gears and seprated a pinion but none since

Hi All,

I'm flying a Z-30 1100 kv in my Logo 500. I put a 5 mm collar from a TRex 450 on the shaft first to hold the output shaft in place vertically. Then I put the pinion on. There was just enough clearance for the collar.

A friend recommended that I do that as he had stripped a couple HB gears himself. I figured it was cheap insurance.

Keep 'em flying.:YeaBaby:

How much of the battery area does the counter bearing take out?
