I have a new Duralite 4000mah 7.4 volt battery pack connected to a new Duralite 5.1 voltage regulator with switch.

With the battery and regulator connected per the instructions I’m reading 5.99 volts at the plug that would go in the receiver. Putting a 1 amp load on it, it still reads 5.54 volts. That seems a little high, so I have not plugged in the RX or any servos.

The regulator is 5.1 volts so I’m expecting about 5.1 volts, am I wrong here?

Thanks

Sounds like the regulator may be mislabeled.
I have a couple of Duralite 5.1 volt regulators. On my GY 601 brain box. One shows 5.2 volts, the other shows 5.1 volts. Checking them with a 1.5 amp load. They show the same on the Duralite volt meter.
My 5.3 volt Duralite regulator shows 5.4 volts with a 1.5 amp load.

Personally I would have no problem using it. I have used the 5.6 volt regulator for several months with no problems. This was with Futaba 9252's , GY 601/9251. I know a few pilots that have used the 6 volt regulator with the same setup with no problem.

If you don't want to use the regulator. Contact Jack at Duralite and he will exchange the one you have.
