Hi,

I'm not sure of how to mount the tail servo on the boom, with this CNC tail servo mount (http://flying-hobby.com/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=3_30_38&products_id=2050) and a straight tail pushrod.

Anyone got a picture of this where it's possible to see how the servo is mounted?

Thanks!

Mine is nearly identical except I put the screw clamps on top. That gave me a little more clearance underneath for the pushrod.

makes sense... in fact.. I'll probably end up flipping mine around.. I was surprised that mine came with the boom mounted servo stock...will make going to the longer boom and 550 blades even easier

I have the boom clamps but haven;t converted yet.....does the servo seem really secure since each clamp only has one bolt holding it?

I guess it would be hard to move the servo since it is attached with 4 screws..just would have been better if Gaui used two attachments to the boom clamps.

MM,

You might want to use a slightly longer arm for your rudder servo. I am also using a Spektrum DS821 on my tail with a GU210 gyro and needed to use the long arm of the 4 point servo horn to get the tail to wag.

Cheers,
Mike.

thanks for the tip on the servo horn...my new ESC should be here tomorrow and I'll be able to trim it this weekend...

as far as it being stable in the mount.. it might look like it would move, but it's not going anywhere

Hey Mystic

I was also using the 821 servo on my tail and i didnt like it at all.

gave me really woolly tail control and i like the tail to be nice and crisp in its stops

i couldnt afford the popular 9254 so i bought a Hyperion DS20GMD that was much cheaper with the same specs and runs on 6volts

So far i have a reall nice crisp tail that hold fast in full power climbouts and is more than a match for my skills

i got mine from Skyhobbies in Singapore

just thought i would share this info!

Ben,

That's interesting - if my tail were any crisper it would break the boom off, you like the Hyperion though ?? I'm quite tempted as I would then have a spare DS821 for when the inevitable happens.

Cheers,
Mike.

Hey mike

yes i really like the Hyperion great specs and much cheaper than the futaba.

However i wasnt comparing to the JR/Spektrum DS821 it was an anologue Maxwell 821 sorry my mistake.

Cheers
