Just curious on how it holds up?
Using the motor as a stressed member of the frame makes me nervous. I can see motor cases getting broken, especially on a heli this size! I've seen it on 600's which have a similar design...

I don't know.... I augered my 600's in, REALLY hard. More than once. I've broken just about every breakable part..... I haven't hurt the engine cases.

If Fireup had one I bet it would have crashed by now ;)
I am pretty sure he was the FIRST to crash a 500....... Guess who is NOT flying mine when it's done ;)

With all your taunting I'm surprised he doesn't crash more....!
I saw you guys at the Bakersfield Fun Fly. Bob was standing behind Kevin as he flew making snide remarks about NOT crashing.... All in good fun I know
That would personally drive me crazy, but I'm sure Kevin is used to it :cheers

I'm used to it, learn early on to ignore the peanut gallery.:D
It holds up well. I saw one go in. Frames were fine just the usual stuff.

Hell guys,
I have crashed mine today... :(
But I can say it is really resistant :D
No damaged on the frames and the body, just the tail and shafts.

Hi Tristan !
Lucky yours you have two of them... so you can afford one crash and still keep flying the other.

Hi Tristan,
I am sorry for you. :(
You made an error or you had a mechanical problem?
Thierry.

there was a midair between a trex 700 and a MA stratus .90 today at MHA. they both went in HARD. the 700 lost frames, tail boom, both blades, skids, flybar, and some links flew off, the stratus had worse.
everything important on the 700 stayed intact except the frames, it was a hard crash though. the blade grips, and main block looked fine, and the bearing blocks were fine. the heli stood up well to that bad of a crash.

I crashed Trevor Burley's 700N after the tail servo let go and it wouldn't stop piro'ing. Frames are really strong, broke the blades and boom (all the bits that stick out) and the undercart, apart from that it was fine.
