View Full Version : How do I set MZ14 Pitch angle readings, displayed in degrees to match my heli.

Can anyone help me solve this problem?

I know how to change from (%) to (DEG) reading on my Pitch screen, but when I try to set the (ANGLE) to the actual blade reading on my heli, the MZ14 shows the (ANGLE) edit window, but sounds a long warning tone when I press any of the up/down buttons.
I have looked through the MZ14 manual and the only reference I can find to this is on PAGE-108.

I have four Heli's and have set them up on my MZ14 successfully, even the high/low max blade Angles, but I can not remember what quirk I used to do it...
Is it possible that the latest 2.4 GHz software update has a bug?

I have tried all sorts of different approaches to this setting, but I am still unable to adjust the ANGLE readings.

I have been an Engineer and Technician for many years now, I find Futaba manuals are so non user friendly, I can not find mentioned the lock-out or warning tone, and if the manual does, then I just don’t know where Futaba have stated it.

PLEASE HELP, INLIGHTEN ME.
PHIL.

You enter the number of degrees you have in your mechanical setup for the max, center and min through the 'Angle' button in the same corner of the dialog where you change from percent to degrees.

Hi Tomas,

You need to read my post again, I already stated that when I try to enter the actual pitch reading with the up/down keys on the far right, I just get a long warning tone every time I press one of them buttons.
Please note that once you have pressed the (ANGLE) button, the Angle setting window comes up on the right side of the screen, and only them buttons in that window are responsive to touch, the only button that does not give the warning tone, is the (CLOSE) button, which only closes that window again.

Thanks for the fast reply.
PHIL.

Sorry for the mess up! I didn't read that carefully... Sorry.

I don't have my TX near by so I can't test this but I seem to remember having tested it and that it worked.

I agree with you that Futaba manuals often confuse more than they help...

Hello,
Perhaps it is due to the stick position. You should have stick at full pitch to set max pitch, same for middle stick/mid pitch and low stick/min pitch.

MZFAN's last post is correct. By the way, does anyone use the built in electronic cyclic ring to good effect??

Thank you all for replying,
MZFAN you are the winner :) your method works perfect, why oh why can,t Futaba state this somewhere in the manual, just a silly little thing as putting the stick in the same hi/lo possition that you are going to adjust.
I to think that the new software release was buggy, since I have set this before with success.

So if in doubt, try wiggling the stick to....

THANK YOU ALL AGAIN SO MUCH,
Now this post can close.

I am going to open a new one, asking how to set MZ14 Gov head speed reading to match GOV-1 display?

All the best,

What's this, could you explain :wow2:

Thanks :cheers

The electronic cyclic ring does the same job as the ones that can be fitted over the stick bezel to produce a circular motion at full stick defelction so as to not get a square action of motion.

Although the electronic cyclic ring will not stop the stick motion from being square it stops the cyclic swash deflection from gigging into the corners.

I hope this makes sence.
