Can the FUTABA 7C AIRPLANE 2.4GHz TRANSMITTER
be used for helicopters?

I know the default menus is for air planes, but they can be
programmed so it becomes like the heli version?

What is difference for the throttle rachet?

Sorry for my awful engliso :smokin:

You select Heli under model type for a new model memory.

You need to get rid of the clicker on the throttle to fly helis, just open up the back and take the screw out of the spring clip and flip it over.

The other difference is the switches are backwards on the top, your idle up is on the right and throttle hold on the left. No big deal just make sure if someone that is helping you is aware of it. I had a guy I was test flying his mini titan and he didnt say anything and when I hit idle up it turned out to be throttle hold and dropped like a rock, thank God it was only a foot off the ground.

I ask this because I see that the Heli version is out of stock on
all the cheap stores, but they do have to air plaine version.

So remove a screw, and go into the menu ->change to heli model-
That's all I have to do to make this a "heli" transmitter?

I can do the same manouvers with the air plaine version as the heli one?
So the only difference is that throttle and idle up have changed place?
All other functions are the same?

Convince me to buy the air plaine version? or

Software is the same in both versions
Airplane version defaults to Airplanes
Heli Version to Helis.

As mentioned the idle up and throttle hold switches are in different locations between the two versions

And the throttle has a ratchet mechanism on it on the airplane version

Here is the manual for the 7C. As you can see it is the same manual for 7CAPand 7CHP
Scroll to Page 11 and 12 and it will show you the switch differences between the A and the H versions.

I've noticed that some of the airplane guys will buy the heli version to fly airplanes with cause they like the switch placement better, but I've never heard of a heli person buying an airplane version just to fly helis.
Not sure what that means.

PS: I fly both planks and helis with my 9303 heli version.

Most airplane guys that buy heli radios do so to get the smooth throttle.

Is there a drawback to having the "notched" throttle when using it for a heli?

Would the notches cause less resolution / control of the heli? Or is it just a tactile thing?

Yup...it makes it pretty much impossible to hold a steady hover or smoothly and preciley add power with the notchy collective stick.
