I am a tireless champion of the Blade CP Pro, but I have one beef that E-flite seems oblivious to: the darned CF rod intended to secure the canopy doesn't stay in the frame.

The top CF rod for the canopy is the most important one. (Esky frames have a tunnel that holds the rod come what may.) Gluing the rod doesn't work; it pops out from R & R'ing the canopy and/or crashing. But there is a way: use a 4" zip tie to hold the CF rod in place. I saw this on a BCPP airframe generously donated to the cause by Crab-fu. Shortly thereafter I tried to fly my BCPP backwards too low to the ground and piled it in badly enough to build the heli on a new frame. Perfect opportunity to cure the loose canopy rod blues....

I broke the main frame, and when I put the heli back together, I did this... On the previous frame I had tried glue and everything, but the "catch" for the rod just wouldnt hold it... Now, with this mod in place, the rod hasn't budged! Great idea, thanks!

Just gotta love the Blade. Glad this little stratagem is useful.

I had the same problem. I put a Blade CP flybar weight on each side of the canopy rod snug against the frame. The weights don't interfere with the servo arms and the canopy rod stays in place.

JMP— weigh the flybar weights; then weigh a 4" zip tie.... ;)

Yes, the canopy rod holders do pop off frequently in crashes and can be a real pain. I've cursed them numerous times. I crashed both my birds the other day and the top rods dislodged once again! Groan! As I CA'd them in place for the 100th time I got to thinking about the cost of a new canopy and just why the rods pop out in the first place. They are fuses! Better the rod to pop out than the canopy to crack into pieces! I will continue to glue mine back in place. Nice tip though.
