Hi, I just got my gorilla landing skids in the post. When I went to put the on my heli I saw that the holes were not in the right place which is what I expected BUT. I don't know where I need t drill the holes?

Do I screw the skids onto one side of the heli and then make a hole the other side which means that the skids wont be perfectly in line.

Or do I drill two sets of holes on each cross strut? If so, where do I drill the holes? Either side of the original holes or in front of them?

If I drill them next to the original holes then there will be hardly any plastic left so im guessing I shouldn't do that?

Anyone else got experience or good advice?

Cheers,
Jonny

1/16 Drill bit is all you need, its soft stuff if you get screws with a good point on them you can even screw it straight in and it will make its own hole.

The new holes have to be right next to the original holes on the Inside of them (so 2 new holes closer to the middle of the skids right next to the original holes)

i drilled the holes right next to leaving a little space between and it was no problem

Hi Johnny - this is how I do things like this -

Tape the skids in place on the frame. From the top of the skid mounts on the frame, place an x-acto knife throught the mount on the frame and mark the top of the skids. Then when you take the skids off the frame, you will have the location of all 4 frame holes marked on the skids. Then you can drill the holes in the skids and they will match the existing mounting holes in the frame.

If this isn't clear, (I haven't had my morning coffee yet) let me know and I'll post a couple pics.

Thanks guys, I have done it now :D I marked where the holes needed to go and my dad drilled them:D

These skids are awsome. I am going out now to try them. Ill let you know what I think of them in flight when I come back.

Cheers for the help,
Jonny

I just took the old skids off, blamped them to the ned ones and drill through using the hole in the standard skids as the template.

I just measured the length of the holes on the frame from the centre of one hole to the other and then measured the points on the new landing skids. Then I drew a dot and drilled it. But I couldn't have the new hole next to the original hole because otherwise the holes would have joined together. So I set the new hole beack a few mm. Worked perfect.

Just had my first flight with them. Awsome. Easier for landing. Look nicer. Flexible for hard landings. Lost track of time (Forgot to time it) had a power dip but landed pefectly. Best skids ever, even though I have only ever tried the stock ones.

A good upgrade if you are bored and want to do some small mods.
