My DN Power 2150mah 3S pack puffed for no apparent reason. I knew I wouldn't be using it for a while, so I stored it using the Cellpro 4Ss storage setting. It was kept about 70 degrees in an ammo can and I checked it weekly for puffage. Well, sure enough. I checked it last week and poof.

The Cellpro 4S shows good voltages with no damage, but I know this pack is a time bomb now.

RiteHobbies is offering me Ternergy 25C replacement packs at $30 since the warranty is done on the DN Power pack.

Should I lick my wounds and buy a "real" pack to replace it, or is the $30 pack a viable, reliable replacement option?

Thanks.

John

So anyone know if Tenergy's are decent batteries?

Thanks.

If a pack is half the price it's for a reason.

All the higher end manufacturers by lots of cells and match them or buy pre-matched cells.
The lower end manufacturers don't match their cells. Those unmatched packs really show their weakness in short order.

The pack is half price because my DN Power battery is out of its warranty period. The Tenergy 25C pack typically goes for $50.

I went ahead and spent the $30 on a new Tenergy pack. We'll see if I wasted that money or not.
