Windy, day. Can't fly the primary so rebuilding a tail on a used bird I bought 3rd hand. I pulled off the tail blades and put the hub and tail blade holders on a high point balancer. One side kept swinging low, so I took everything apart and weighed them on a 3 beam scale. the heavy blade holder, with everthing removed was 7.47 grams the light was 7.33 grams...a 14 hundredths of a gram difference. A little careful surgery, filing, and I got the heavy side to within a hundredth of a gram of the light holder. I put them back on the high point and...now they perfectly balance instead of one side down.
I usually don't do this, but I'm wondering if anyone knows whether this much weight makes a difference. Balancing them out can't hurt, but now I wonder if I should check my primary bird on the high point and the 3 beam.

I have never done this ,,and have never talked to anyone did it .... but I am sure there are those that do and it sure isn't going to hurt any thing ...
If the primary is flying smooth don't mess with it .. as the old saying states ....if it ain't broke don't fix it .
