View Full Version : Tore my rubber spindle thingy!!

Got the kit yesturday and began the build almost immediately, Have to say the kit goes together lovely, and I have built a few different models in the last 18 months.
Got to the part with the instalation of the rubber sleeve over the feathering spindle applied my soapy water got it half way on to the spindle and then split it wide open
I have continued the rest of the build as I will have to wait until after the week end to order a replacement. I did notice however there is a brass tube inside the same bag that fits over the spindle and looks like it was made to go on instaesd of the rubber version. Is this the case I would have checked the latest manual for info but Avants server is down at the mo.

Here is a tool that will make installing the silicone tubing on the head axle easier.

The brass tube is to seat the C clips on the axle I would guess.

That is correct..... the brass tube is for pushing doun the C clips.

I had to work the silicon tube onto the spindle in small increments... pull a little on one end... push the other end on further... and so on. LOTS of soapy water as you go.
