joining LiIo's in series?

Hi
I have two 2400mah fromeco LiIo RX packs, and rather than spend more on a another single 4800 pack, I want to join them is parallel for use.
Can I use them like that?
Do I need to balance them initially, and after charging etc?
Can I charge them together, or do I need to seperate them?
I Was using a charge of 2cell LiIo 2.0 amps , now would I use
2 cell LiIo 4.0amps?

Stuart,
Should not be a problem if you are only using them for an RX pack.
I don't think balancing will be an issue.
One thing to consider is just making up a harness to connnect the two in parallel instead of hacking the packs up.
This way you can still charge the two packs as you have been, but get the 4800 mah capacity in the ship.
Much easier to deal with overall and you will not have any kind of return service issues with such a setup.
