Hi all. I've been flying my first logo 500 flybarless for several weeks now and loving it. Lately I've been noticing that the motor seems to be shutting off for very short periods of time. To me it sounds like the motor senses over speeding and temporarily shuts off, then runs normally. It's literally for a half a second. It doesn't effect performance.

Anyone else have this happen? Is this normal? Does the speed control need to be re calibrated?

Here's the rest of my set up: evo 5350 6s packs, Century 600+ motor (z30), 15 tooth pinion, ultimate BEC, 550 rotortech main blades.
throttle curve idle 1 is at 70%

Everything stays nice and cool, so I don't believe its any king of thermal issue.

I would love to hear from some of the more experienced users.

thanks

Sounds like the ESC resetting - if you're quite sure it's not thermal cut out I'd suggest you look carefully at your power leads and Dean's plugs - probably worthwhile changing the ESC male Deans - they can (surprisingly) get bad contacts and when heating up maybe the little metal strip deforms - a dry soldered joint can do the same thing - I only use genuine Deans and never mix them with other brands as I had a similar problem once which took me a while to pin down !

You're right, it's definitely not a thermal shutdown, as that requires disconnecting the battery to reset the esc before you can restart it. Since his is restarting a second later (without disconnecting power), the problem can't be thermal.

However, since you are using governer and slow start, I don't think the problem can be with power to the esc, since if there was a momentary power loss, the esc would have to go through slow start again. His post intimates that the motor is getting full power immediately.

If I had to guess, I would say the problem is either a bad esc or a bad connection to the motor. So check your bullet connectors to the motor and make sure all three are making good contact. Maybe just replace them and see what happens.

I'll check my solder spots. I already use genuine deans connectors. I'll check all my wires forst and see if that reveals anything. Is there anything in the esc set up that could be causing this?
